The government of India has authorized the export of a batch of hydroxychloroquine to Morocco amid the global health crisis. According to a statement sent Saturday to Yabiladi by the Indian embassy in Rabat, the shipment is intended to the Health Ministry in the Kingdom and includes 6 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine sulfate. Manufactured by Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company IPCA Laboratories, the shipment is expected to arrive this weekend. According to the same source, the deal is part of India's efforts to fight against the Covid-19 crisis. In addition to Morocco, the country has «shipped medicines and pharmaceutical supplies to more than 130 countries». Moreover, India has also started online health classes for foreign countries. «The e-ITEC course on 'COVID-19 Pandemic: prevention and management guidelines for health professionals', was also attended by a representative of the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Morocco», the statement concluded. For the record, hydroxychloroquine is a medication used to prevent and treat malaria in areas where malaria remains sensitive to chloroquine. Morocco is one of the countries that have been using hydroxychloriquine on Covid-19 patients.
