Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristina Georgieva will pay a visit to Morocco from February 17 to 20. «The visit is meant to discuss preparations for the World Bank and IMF annual meetings scheduled for October 2021 in Marrakesh», said IMF chief communications officer Gerry Rice during a press briefing on Thursday in Washington. This is Kristina Georgieva's first visit to Morocco, an opportunity to prepare for this important annual meeting of the two international financial institutions, he said. The IMF Managing Director will meet with senior Moroccan officials and will also participate in a round-table meeting on governance in the presence of members of civil society and young people, added Rice. Morocco was officially designated in April 2018 to host the 2021 edition of the WB and IMF Annual Meetings.
