Policemen in the city of Fez arrested on Saturday morning three people aged between 25 and 47 in possession of 2.28 tons of cannabis resin. The three suspects, who were in a car, were arrested at the entrance of Fez, national police said in a statement, adding that one of the three people used a shotgun and fired four shots at the police. Faced with this situation, policemen were forced to use their service weapons, firing six bullets, one of which hit one of the suspects, before arresting all the suspects and seizing the shotgun and two bullets, the source added. The search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 2.28 tons of cannabis resin, 2 Kg of Kif, several doses of cocaine, a sum of money of 8,390 DH, cell phones and foreign false registration plates. The injured suspect was rushed into a hospital to receive the necessary health care while the two other suspects were placed on custody while investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office to determine all the ramifications of this criminal act.
