Pro-Polisario Sahrawis in the Canary Islands organized, Saturday, a demonstration in front of the sub-commission of the Spanish government, protesting against the repatriation of Sahrawi student Hussein Ben Bachir Ben Brahim Amaadour. These protesters criticized the Spanish authorities for repatriating the «Sahrawi activist and handing him over to the Moroccan police, which was pursuing him to arrest him», wrote SPS. The same source indicated that the pro-Polisario activists are currently studying the possibility of questioning the Spanish state about this extradition and organizing demonstrations and sit-ins to denounce «human rights violations». Hussein Ben Bashir Ben Brahim Amaadour was handed over Thursday, January 17th, to the Moroccan authorities following his extradition from Spain where he applied for asylum. He is suspected of being involved in the murder of Amazigh student Omar Khaleq, aka Izem, murdered on January the 23rd, 2016 during a clash between Sahrawi and Amazigh students near the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences in Marrakech. The Marrakesh Appeal Court had already confirmed last April the sentence handed down in the first instance to 18 people convicted of killing Izem.
