In a new letter to the African Union president, Polisario's leader Brahim Ghali, urged Paul Kagame to prevent Morocco from organizing the Crans Montana Forum in Dakhla. «The Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic would therefore like to ask your urgent intervention to convince the Kingdom of Morocco, as a member state of the AU, to abstain from organizing this forum in the occupied city of Dakhla, so as to avoid any possible escalation in the region», wrote Ghali as reported by the Front's news agency. For the record, the Crans Montana Forum will be held in the Southern city of Dakhla on March 15-20, organizers said Thursday. Over 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries are expected to take part in the event, which will focus this year on Africa and South-South cooperation. Several topics will be discussed at the forum, including food security, sustainable agriculture, renewable energies, youth and women's empowerment, urban global management and ocean economy. Ghali's letter comes as he sent a previous one to the African Union president urging him to shed light on the exploitation of natural resources during the upcoming AU extraordinary summit.
