The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) has extended its heartfelt condolences following the death of Moroccan journalist Ayoub Errimi, who passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in London after a long battle with cancer. The council expressed sympathy to his family, friends, and the Moroccan journalistic community both in Morocco and abroad. Born in 1990 in Kenitra, Morocco, Errimi graduated from the Higher Institute of Information and Communication in Rabat in 2013 with a degree in audiovisual journalism. He began his career at several Moroccan media institutions, including Hespress newspaper, before relocating to London, where he worked as a correspondent for Al Jazeera. While in London, Errimi launched the «Here is London» podcast on YouTube, featuring interviews with prominent figures, including British historian Jerry Broughton and Professor Amir Al-Nimrat, head of the Artificial Intelligence Department at East London University. Errimi participated in media events, delivering presentations on interpretative journalism and its importance in contemporary media. He also contributed to discussions at Al Jazeera Media Institute about the journalist's role in news analysis and broader context-setting. The 35-year-old journalist was actively involved in CCME's initiatives, hosting the council's broadcasts and giving voice to Moroccans living abroad.
