The Spanish national police consider that the jihadist group, which was dismantled in Spain and Morocco in a joint operation in which nine radicalized members of the Daesh terrorist organization were arrested, represented a real threat. The Spanish daily ABC reports that the group intended to carry out violent acts on Spanish territory. On Monday, the Central Investigating Court No. 1 of the Spanish Audiencia Nacional ordered the incarceration of the six people detained by the national police on Spanish territory. This operation was carried out in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) and the General Intelligence Commissariat of the Spanish police. On Thursday, November 22, the authorities dismantled a terrorist cell affiliated with the «Daesh» organization in the Sahel. Comprising nine members, the cell included three individuals operating in Tetouan and Fnideq, as well as six others in Madrid, Ibiza, and Ceuta. Searches carried out at the homes of the suspects as part of this joint and simultaneous security operation led to the seizure of edged weapons and computer equipment, which will be subjected to the necessary digital forensic examination, according to a BCIJ press release.
