The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), acting on precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGTS), arrested three individuals affiliated with the terrorist organization «Daesh» on Tuesday. The suspects, aged between 18 and 39, are suspected of involvement in planning several terrorist attacks aimed at seriously harming public safety and order. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to neutralize terrorist threats, according to a BCIJ press release. According to a statement from the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), special forces from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance conducted separate operations to intervene and arrest the suspects in the cities of Fez, Fnideq, and the village community of «Walad Ghanem» in the province of El Jadida. The BCIJ further stated that searches of the suspects' homes led to the seizure of various electronic devices for digital forensics analysis, along with bladed weapons, a piece of wood painted with the logo of the terrorist organization «ISIS», and extremist-oriented texts. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed caliph of ISIS and actively participated in preparing terrorist attacks by acquiring expertise in making explosive devices. Their aim was to carry out these subversive plans against vital interests within the Kingdom, acting as «lone wolves». The three suspects are in custody pending further investigation by the Central Office for Judicial Investigation (OCIJ) under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor for terrorism cases. This investigation aims to uncover all their terrorist plans and projects, as well as any potential links with terrorist organizations outside Morocco.
