Moroccan company OCP Nutricrops has signed a ten-year agreement to purchase sulfur from QatarEnergy. Under this long-term deal, the Qatari company will supply up to 7.5 million tonnes of sulfur. The partnership aims to «develop soil nutrition solutions» to address the challenges of sustainable production and support food sovereignty. Speaking to Qatar News Agency, Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Qatar's Minister of State for Energy Affairs and Executive Director of QatarEnergy, highlighted that the agreement would strengthen commercial ties with OCP Nutricrops and Morocco. The agency also emphasized that this agreement aligns with QatarEnergy's strategy of building stable, long-term relationships with trusted leaders in the fertilizer industry while contributing to the agricultural sector. Qatar News Agency further noted that Qatar is «one of the world's largest sulfur exporters», with an annual production capacity of approximately 3.4 million tonnes—a figure expected to rise with the launch of new gas production projects in the coming years.
