The Ministry of Equipment and Water is expediting the construction of 15 large dams, totaling a capacity of 4.778 billion cubic meters, in Morocco. Upon completion, these dams will significantly enhance potable water supply across the Kingdom, support agricultural irrigation, generate hydroelectric power, and replenish groundwater resources. The following is the progress on these dam projects: Ghiss Dam in Al-Hoceima province, where work has progressed by about 99%. It has a storage capacity of 93 million cubic meters. The Sakia El Hamra Dam, located in the Laayoune region, is 74% complete. Its storage capacity is 113 million cubic meters. Koudiat El Berna Dam, located in Sidi Kacem Province, is 88% complete and has a storage capacity of 12 million cubic meters. Sidi Abbou Dam, located in Taounate Province, is 73% complete and has a storage capacity of 200 million cubic meters. Ait Ziat Dam, located in the Haouz region, is 62% complete and has a storage capacity of 185 million cubic meters. The Targa Ou Madi Dam, located in the eastern region of Guercif is 51% complete, with a storage capacity of 287 million cubic meters. Boulaouane Dam, located in the Chichaoua region, has a 50% progress rate, with a storage capacity of 66 million cubic meters. The Beni Azziman Dam, located in the Driouech region, is 56% complete and has a storage capacity of 44 million cubic meters. Khenk Kro Dam, located in Figuig Province in the eastern region, with a 38% progress rate and a storage capacity of 1,070 million cubic meters. Oued lakhdar Dam, located in Azilal Province, has a 30% progress rate, with a storage capacity of 150 million cubic meters. Tamri Dam, located in Agadir in the Souss-Massa region, with a 45% progress rate, with a storage capacity of 204 million cubic meters. The Rutba Dam, located in Taounate in the Fes-Meknes region, is 25% complete and has a storage capacity of 1009 million cubic meters. Taghzirt Dam, located in Beni Mellal Province, with a progress rate of 8%, with a storage capacity of 85 million cubic meters. The Mohammed V Dam, located in the Taourirt region in the eastern region, is currently progressing at more than 40%, with a storage capacity of 980 million cubic meters. The Mokhtar Soussi Dam, located in the Taroudant region, is 50% complete and has a storage capacity of 280 million cubic meters.
