The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau in Iran, has been denounced by a number of Moroccan politicians and parties. Moroccan political parties, former ministers, and organizations condemned the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau, in a «Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran». The General Secretariat of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) expressed its sorrow, saying, «with hearts filled with faith in God's decree and destiny, we received the news of the martyrdom of the Mujahideen leader Ismail Haniyeh following a treacherous terrorist operation on his residence before dawn this morning in the Iranian capital, Tehran». In his name and on behalf of the party members, PJD Secretary General Abdelilah Benkirane condemned the act, stating, «we strongly condemn this criminal act. We are convinced that such cowardly terrorist acts, like those before them, will only further defeat and break the Zionist enemy and will not deter the heroic Palestinian people and their valiant resistance from continuing the struggle for their full rights, especially the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital». Parties and Al Adl Wal Ihssane The Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) also condemned the assassination, describing it as «another addition to Israel's record of numerous terrorist assassinations of Palestinian political leaders». They stated, «the cowardly hands of the Zionist entity committed a new political crime by assassinating the prominent Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh. This heinous crime reaffirms Israel's criminal nature, its systematic practice of state terrorism, and its lack of intent for peace». The PPS emphasized that the assassination, like many previous ones, was carried out on foreign soil, which they argued violated the sovereignty of other countries, international legitimacy, and international law. They extended their deepest condolences to the Palestinian people and leadership, as well as to all Palestinian resistance factions, reaffirming their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. Former Minister of Justice and Freedoms Mustapha Ramid expressed his condolences in an online post, stating, «Haniyeh, as I knew him, longed for martyrdom, and now he has achieved what he wished for. Congratulations to our brother on his martyrdom, which, God willing, will inspire thousands of mujahideen who, like him, yearn for martyrdom until the liberation of Palestine». Former Prime Minister Saadeddine El Othmani also mourned the loss, writing, «Brother Leader Ismail Haniyeh, Abu al-Abed, was martyred in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, following a treacherous raid on his residence in Tehran». El Othmani recalled his last meeting with Haniyeh in Doha, describing him as a «strong, patient, and respectful man, steadfast despite the loss of his sons and relatives». The Al Adl Wa Al Ihssane group strongly condemned «this abominable crime», adding, «we affirm with unwavering determination and confidence that the blood of Commander Ismail Haniyeh, may God have mercy on him, will, by God's permission and strength, renew the resolve for jihad, resistance, and redemption». They concluded that «the cowardly assassinations of honorable individuals are a means for the usurpers of the land to vent their frustrations, cover up their failures on the battlefield, and signal their imminent end». Earlier today, Hamas announced the assassination of its political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in a «treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran» following his participation in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard reported that Ismail Haniyeh's residence in Tehran was «targeted, resulting in his martyrdom along with one of his guards».
