From May 27 to 30, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) organized a Light Tour of the four Scandinavian capitals: Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Helsinki (Finland), and Oslo (Norway). The event aimed to strengthen ties with tour operators and travel agents in the region. Nearly fifteen Moroccan operators participated in the Light Tour, establishing relations with their Nordic counterparts and promoting Moroccan experiences, particularly highlighting new air capacities secured by the ONMT with Norwegian Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines. A total of 150 Scandinavian operators were approached during this Light Tour. The ONMT's ambition is to position Morocco, and Agadir in particular, as a destination of choice for Scandinavian travelers, especially during the coming winter season. Agadir is expected to benefit greatly from this strategy. The aim is to substantially increase the number of visitors and revive Agadir's reputation. This strategy includes doubling air capacity from Scandinavia for this coming winter 2024. Seven new routes will be launched by Norwegian Airlines, including four to Agadir and three to Marrakech. Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) frequencies between Copenhagen and Agadir will also be doubled. Morocco will thus be served by 21 direct weekly flights from the four Scandinavian capitals, Riga, the capital of Latvia, and Gothenburg, Sweden's second largest city.
