Moroccan director Bouchaib El Messaoudi's documentary film «Amghar» won the Best Foreign Language Documentary Film award at the London international filmmaker festival, which took place March 15-19. The film «Amghar» (2020) deals, in about 61 minutes, with an aspect of the Moroccan cultural heritage embodied by the character of Amghar who plays different roles to resolve the problems and conflicts of the inhabitants, El Messaoudi said. The documentary also portrays the daily life of different categories of people, and coexistence by appealing to the wisdom of «Amghar», the honest, just and selfless man, the director added. This documentary was chosen to compete for the awards of this cinematographic genre, along with seven other films at the 10th edition of the African Film Festival in Luxor, Egypt, he noted. Produced by Créativité pour la production Audiovisuelle, the film is the result of the work of a team made up of Rachid Al Hajoui (idea and decor), Tahar Abdellaoui and Issam Chahbouni (photography) and Bouchaib El Messaoudi (production).
