A few hours after the opening of the Manama conference, expected to unveil the economic portion of the United States Israeli-Palestinian peace plan, known as the «Deal of the Century», Morocco announced that it is officially attending the meeting in Bahrain. «Invited by the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States, a member of the ministry of economy and finance will attend» the conference, a spokesperson from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a communiqué sent to Yabiladi on Monday. Morocco will be attending the Manama meeting alongside «several Arab, African and European countries, as well as many regional and international organizations», the same source added. In the same communiqué, the spokesperson stressed that the Kingdom's position regarding the Palestinian conflict remains «unchanged». Morocco is the last country to confirm its presence in the conference after Egypt and Jordan said the weekend that they will be sending officials to Bahrain. For the record, Donald Trump's senior advisor Jared Kushner visited Rabat in May to drum up support for the peace plan and the conference held in Manama. Interviewed on June 24 by Al Quds Al Arabi, Kushner confirmed that Morocco will take part in the meeting.
