An Emirati man with AIDS has been accused of raping a 24-year-old Moroccan woman in Dubai, UAE, reports online newspaper Khaleej Times on Thursday. The man is standing trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance. The 40-year-old suspect said he was innocent, stressing that he was sick. Indeed, medical examinations report revealed that he has AIDS and other «transmittable diseases», says the same source. During a hearing held in the Emirati court, the victim said she was stalked by the man, who followed her on May the 13th and forced his way into her house when she was returning from a nightclub. She claimed that he «assaulted [her] and then raped [her]». «He said he would slit my throat if I screamed for help», she added. The Moroccan national filed a complaint at Al Qusais police station, after she was rescued by her Syrian friend. The latter was on the phone with her and heard her screaming for help. «I went to her place and took him away from her. I restrained him until the police arrived», he told the prosecutor. According to the same source, the trial has been postponed to September the 23rd.
