A Moroccan national was arrested in Valencia (Southeastern Spain) for preventing his wife from leaving home for a month after beating her, reports Las Provincias. The 36-year-old man had tried to make of his wife a sex slave, forcing her to engage in violent sexual acts, which she refused to perform. Faced with his wife's rejection, he had repeatedly punched her all over her body. The assaults were repeated every day for about a month, until the woman decided last Sunday to leave her house while her husband was at work. She was able to flee and get help at a shop near her place. The victim was transferred to the police station. Although their house was not locked, she was too scared to get out fearing her husband's reaction. The man was arrested at his workplace as an alleged perpetrator of sexual assault, kidnapping and mistreatment, and was put at the disposal of the court. The newspaper said he did not have a criminal record.
