It is freezing in several part of Canada especially, Quebec, where a Muslim charity has volunteered to distribute warm clothing to the homeless people in Montreal and Quebec City, La Presse reports. The mission of Islamic Relief Canada is to provide emergency assistance to communities hit by disasters. This is the first time the charity has conducted a relief operation in the country, spokeswoman Nora Shamroukh said in an interview with the same Canadian newspaper. In Montreal, hot meals, feminine hygiene products and first aid kits are scheduled to be distributed this Sunday. By the end of the following week, the organization will give away up to 500 «winter kits». They include coats, boots, hoodies, underwear, scarves and gloves. In Quebec, the Islamic Cultural Center (CCIQ), whose mosque was attacked almost a year ago, will oversee the operation. «In our faith, all homeless people, without exception, are people we have to deal with,» said Center spokesman Mahedine Djamai. The date of distribution has not yet been determined yet. According to officials, it should begin within a week. Work was also done on Friday with four shelters to draw up a list of their needs.
