Saad Lamjarrad is no longer wearing an electronic ankle bracelet, according to his lawyer, Eric Dupond-Moretti. Contacted by Huffpost Morocco, the French lawyer confirmed the information indicating that the Moroccan singer accused of «aggravated rape» and «voluntary violence», is now able to freely move in France. «Yes, it's true, he is no longer wearing an electronic ankle bracelet», he said. Indeed, the singer was arrested on October the 26th, 2016 in Paris, after a young woman filed a complaint against Lamjarrad accusing him of raping her in a hotel room. After spending six months in the Fleury-Merogis prison, in Ile de France, the singer was released on April the 13th 2017 and was forced to wear an electronic ankle bracelet. Saad Lamjarrad, as a result, cannot leave the French territory and is supposed to get out of the place where he is staying based on restricted and fixed hours, in accordance to the court.
