The Temara provincial police foiled an attempt to traffic 4.321 tons of chira on Tuesday evening, based on information provided by Morocco's General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). This security operation, carried out in coordination with the Royal Gendarmerie in Skhirat, led to the arrest of five individuals, aged between 24 and 50, for their alleged involvement in an international drug and psychotropic substance smuggling network, according to the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN). Searches conducted in two utility vehicles resulted in the seizure of 109 bundles of chira, totaling 4.321 tons. Additionally, ongoing investigations led to the seizure of four vehicles used in the operation and MAD 4 million suspected to be the proceeds of the crime. The five suspects were taken into custody for further investigation, under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office, to uncover potential connections and arrest any other accomplices.
