On the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC-2025) on Saturday, Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, praised Morocco's progress in clean energy, particularly in green hydrogen. «Morocco is now in a position to offer solutions to the world, no longer viewing itself solely as a recipient of support», he told Morocco's news agency MAP, following a bilateral meeting with the Minister for Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali. The German official emphasized that Morocco-German relations have strengthened in recent years, noting that his discussions with Benali focused particularly on the next steps to further deepen the partnership between the two countries. He also commended Morocco's commitment to strengthening the UN development system, as highlighted by Benali during the high-level panel on the subject, which was organized as part of the 61st Munich Security Conference. The MSC-2025, a high-level platform dedicated to addressing key challenges in foreign policy and international security, opened on Friday in the Bavarian capital, in the presence of German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, along with several heads of state and government, diplomats, political leaders, and experts from nearly 110 countries. The main program of the MSC-2025, which took place from February 14 to 16, 2025, focuses on global security challenges, including global governance, democratic resilience, and climate security. It also examines the state of the international order, regional conflicts and crises, and Europe's role in the world.
