The regional judicial police department in El Jadida, in collaboration with their counterparts in Sidi Bennour, successfully apprehended two suspects linked to the kidnapping of a woman in Sidi Bennour. The incident, which also involved unlawful detention and an attempted aggravated theft, occurred on the evening of Saturday, February 15. Through meticulous investigations and inquiries, the judicial police identified the suspects. The subsequent field operations resulted in the capture of a 26-year-old woman in the heart of Sidi Bennour. Her accomplice, a 24-year-old man, was detained during a coordinated field operation with the Royal Gendarmerie at the Oulad Frej center, located on the outskirts of Sidi Bennour. The case dates back to February 6, when the victim lodged a complaint. She reported being kidnapped by three individuals, including a woman cloaked in traditional attire, who were riding a car. After three hours of captivity, the assailants released her upon failing to locate a sum of money she had obtained from a property sale. A portion of the crime was captured on video and circulated on social media. Preliminary investigation findings reveal that the suspects learned of the victim's property sale through an acquaintance. Together with a third accomplice, they rented a vehicle to execute the kidnapping, detain the victim, and attempt theft. One suspect even searched her home before the group released her, having failed to find the money, which had already been deposited in the bank. The suspects are currently in custody under judicial supervision as investigations continue under the oversight of the competent public prosecution. Authorities aim to uncover all aspects and motives of the case. Efforts to apprehend any additional individuals involved in these criminal activities are ongoing.
