The Speaker of the Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Congo participated in the meeting of the Speakers of Parliaments of African countries organized on February 6 and 7 in Rabat. It was an opportunity for Vital Kamerhe to call on participants to support his country in its open conflict with Rwanda. «I responded to this call from my Moroccan colleague to take advantage of this platform to call on the brotherly countries of Africa for solidarity around my country, the DRC, which is experiencing a tragedy at the moment», he emphasized in statements to the press following his talks with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami. In a speech delivered at the conference, Kamerhe «praised the vision of King Mohammed VI of Morocco in bringing together the countries bordering the Atlantic Ocean to develop a framework for exchanges and cooperation aiming for collective economic development and growth», reports a Congolese media outlet. #DIPLOMATIE_PARLEMENTAIRE || The president @VitalKamerhe1 in Rabat: "I responded to this call from my Moroccan colleague to take advantage of this platform to call on the brotherly countries of Africa for solidarity around my country, the DRC, which is experiencing a tragedy at the moment." @AssembleeNatRDC pic.twitter.com/x0CMs3m7oL — GLORDY CIBALWIRA (MBA) (@CibalwiraGlordy) February 7, 2025 He also «requested the involvement of King Mohammed VI as a great African leader to mobilize the Heads of State of the African Great Lakes region and Africa on African solidarity.
