Comaner, a leader in Morocco's food ingredients and additives sector, has announced its acquisition of Biomag, a significant entity in the production of flavors and blends for the food industry. This move aligns with Comaner's strategy to diversify its offerings. The deal, pending regulatory approval, represents a pivotal development for the group. «The acquisition of Biomag allows us to strengthen our expertise in flavors and blends while consolidating our position as a 'one-stop-shop' for the food industry», stated Mounir Kouhen, CEO of Comaner. Sadek Tazi, manager of Biomag, highlighted the advantages of the integration, noting that Biomag will gain from Comaner's extensive experience and commercial network. «This operation will accelerate our growth in a rapidly expanding market, relying on Comaner's know-how and financial strength», he explained. Established in 1980, Biomag has become a key player in Morocco, specializing in the production of liquid and powdered flavors, as well as blends for various food industry segments, including dairy, confectionery, and charcuterie. Biomag's expertise will enhance Comaner's portfolio, which encompasses the importation, production, and distribution of a broad range of food ingredients. The transaction was facilitated by several financial and legal experts: Ascent Capital Partners and Burj Finance served as the financial advisors for Biomag and Comaner, respectively, with legal support from ASAFO & Co., Afrique Advisors, SOFI, and Boughaleb & Associés. Through this acquisition, Comaner reaffirms its ambition to become a pivotal player in Morocco's food industry and to accelerate its growth in the food ingredients and additives market.
