Moroccan kickboxer Badr Hari was released on Wednesday following his arrest in Amsterdam on assault charges, according to the public prosecutor's office, as reported by the Dutch news agency. Press sources indicate that the incident occurred when Hari returned his children to their mother, in accordance with their custody agreement. Upon arriving at her residence, a dispute ensued, escalating into a physical altercation during which Hari allegedly hit her in the face. As part of the conditions for his release, Hari is prohibited from approaching the street in Amsterdam where the complainant resides. Additionally, he will be under regular supervision. In a statement to RTL Boulevard after his release, Hari expressed remorse, saying, «I deeply regret what happened. That's for sure. I have disappointed the people I love». He further added, «What I've gone through in the last couple of years is something I wouldn't wish on any father». Badr Hari has faced accusations of involvement in «several violent incidents», with the most notable being the 2012 assault on businessman Koen Everink at the Amsterdam Arena. Hari was accused of severely assaulting Everink in a private room during that incident. During the trial related to the Everink case, «allegations of previous assaults on his ex-girlfriend Rosa» were also brought up. Although Rosa did not file a formal complaint, text messages she sent to a friend were used as evidence in the proceedings.
