From Wednesday through Friday, several Moroccan provinces are bracing for significant weather changes, including snowfall at elevations above 1,400 meters, accompanied by thundery showers and strong gusts of wind, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM). On Thursday, snowfall ranging from 25 to 50 centimeters is anticipated in the provinces of Ifrane, Khénifra, Sefrou, Al-Haouz, Midelt, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Taza, and Guercif, as indicated in an orange alert bulletin issued by the DGM. Lighter snowfall, measuring between 5 and 10 centimeters, is also expected during the same period in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Taourirt, Al Hoceïma, and Chefchaouen, warns the DGM. On Friday, snowfall between 15 and 30 centimeters is forecast for the provinces of Boulemane, Khénifra, Sefrou, Ifrane, Midelt, and Azilal. Meanwhile, the provinces of Jerada, Figuig, and Taourirt will experience similar conditions, with snow accumulations of 5 to 10 centimeters. In addition, heavy thundery showers, ranging from 20 to 35 millimeters, are expected from Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. to Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in the provinces of Tangier, Tetouan, Fahs-Anjra, M'Diq-Fnideq, Larache, and Chefchaouen. The same stormy conditions are forecast for Thursday from midnight to 3:00 p.m. in the provinces of Taza, Khemisset, Meknes, El-Hajeb, Sefrou, Khénifra, Beni Mellal, Moulay Yacoub, and Khouribga. Furthermore, locally strong wind gusts, reaching speeds of 75 to 90 km/h, are expected from Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. to Thursday at 7:00 a.m. in the provinces of Al Hoceïma, Chefchaouen, and Taza. The same gusty winds will affect the provinces of Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Zagora, Midelt, Sefrou, Ifrane, Azilal, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Al-Haouz, Assa-Zag, Figuig, Taourirt, Guercif, and Boulemane on Thursday, concludes the DGM.
