On Monday, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) launched a new direct service connecting Casablanca and Beijing, marking a significant expansion of its international network. The inaugural flight departed from Mohammed V Airport at 4:20 p.m. yesterday. According to a press release from the national airline, «This new air route is scheduled for three weekly flights aboard Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 302 seats, including 26 in Business Class». Flights will leave Casablanca every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 4:20 p.m. local time, arriving at Beijing International Airport at 11:55 a.m. local time the following day. Return flights from Beijing are scheduled for Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 1:55 p.m. local time, landing in Casablanca at 8:10 p.m. local time. The introduction of this first direct route between Morocco and China is seen as a pivotal opportunity to boost Moroccan tourism and strengthen economic and trade ties between the two nations. «This new service aligns with the Company's commitments under the Development Plan signed with the government in July 2023, and complements the newly inaugurated international routes, including those to Toronto and Sao Paulo», the press release concludes.
