On November 6 and 7, 2024, units of the Royal Armed Forces (RAF), in close cooperation with local authorities and security forces, conducted operations to apprehend irregular migration candidates in the cities of Tan-Tan and Sidi Ifni, as well as off the coast of Tan-Tan. These operations resulted in the arrest of eight Moroccan organizers and 175 irregular migrants of various nationalities, along with the seizure of five Jeeps, according to a statement from the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces. On November 6, 2024, a large-scale sweep led by a joint task force, comprising the Ministry of Interior, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Royal Armed Forces, and the Auxiliary Forces, apprehended eight Moroccan organizers and 11 irregular migrants from sub-Saharan Africa 20 km north of Tan-Tan. Five Jeeps were seized. The statement added that, to combat the issue of irregular migration, it was decided to maintain this joint task force permanently in the same area. On the same day, the Royal Navy Coast Guard intercepted a rubber boat 50 kilometers northwest of Tan-Tan, carrying 54 irregular migration candidates, including 34 Moroccans and 20 sub-Saharan Africans. In a related operation on November 7, 2024, coastal patrol agents apprehended 110 irregular migrants 33 kilometers southwest of Sidi Ifni, including 102 sub-Saharan Africans and eight Asians. The arrested individuals were handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for further administrative processing.
