26 people were admitted to the Sidi Othmane Regional Hospital in Casablanca, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, due to food poisoning caused by a chicken pastilla. The director of the hospital, Saïd Benasli, confirmed to SNRTnews that two of these cases are serious, including a 3-year-old child «transferred to the Abderrahim El Harrouchi Pediatric Hospital for intensive care». Furthermore, 17 of the patients were able to leave the regional hospital, where 9 others remain under observation. The pastilla in question was reportedly ordered from a caterer and consumed at a wedding in Lahraouyine. The guests then showed symptoms of poisoning, including vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever. Other media sources report that the meal was provided by a caterer offering their preparations via social networks.
