Morocco's national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced the launch of a new direct route between Casablanca and Abuja, Nigeria's capital, during a recent ceremony in Abuja. The route will be operational three times a week (Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday) starting June 23rd. During the ceremony, RAM representatives met with major travel agencies and corporate partners in Nigeria. Morocco's Ambassador to Nigeria, Mouha Ouali Tagma, stated that the new route is a major event strengthening the rapprochement between Morocco and Nigeria, making Abuja easily accessible from Casablanca within a few hours. «This new route between the heart of Nigeria, Abuja, and Casablanca is not just an itinerary, but an important milestone in Royal Air Maroc's journey, reinforcing its commitment to connecting Africa», said a RAM representative. «We offer comfortable and reliable connections to Morocco and beyond, catering to travelers seeking business opportunities, cultural exchange, or tourist experiences», he added. «The Abuja-Casablanca route is confident to contribute significantly to economic growth, cultural exchange, and stronger ties between our two countries». This announcement comes after RAM revealed its ambitious development plan earlier this year, aiming to transition from a medium-sized airline to a global player with an extensive network and a larger fleet.
