Policemen arrested, Tuesday, eight people for their alleged links to an international drug trafficking network. Searches carried out by policemen led to the seizure of 7,504 kilograms of cannabis resin in several warehouses at the rural commune of Taghjijt (south-east of Guelmim) and inside a four-wheel-drive vehicle in an area located 60 km east of Guelmim, national police said in a release. Policemen also seized 4 vehicles, a motorcycle, two hunting rifles, 108 cartridges and a sum of money, the source added. The suspects were placed on custody, while investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to shed light on possible links with international drug trafficking networks and arrest all the people involved in these criminal acts. This operation is part of efforts made by national security services to fight against cross-border crimes, including international drug trafficking.
