The second hearing of Omar Radi's trial was rescheduled for 5 March, his lawyer told Yabiladi on Thursday. «The hearing was postponed at the request of the journalist's new defense lawyers», lawyer Omar Benjelloun said. «The request was submitted to help the new lawyers prepare their defense», he added. The second hearing, scheduled last week for January 2, came after Omar Radi was brought before the Casablanca's First Instance court because of a tweet he posted nine months ago. Last Thursday, Radi was arrested and charged with «insulting a judge» through a tweet that addressed the sentences handed to Hirak activists by a Casablanca Appeal court. After spending five days in jail, Radi was granted provisional release, pending his trial. If found guilty of insulting a judge, the journalist could be sentenced to up to one year in jail For the record, Radi was interrogated by the police because of the same tweet in April, days after he criticized Judge Lahcen Tolfi. Radi took to Twitter at the time, stating that he was shortly questioned by the police for his tweets for more than four hours. The arrest and trial of Omar Radi have pushed several activists and journalists to hit the streets to support the journalist. Solidarity sit-ins were held in several cities, including Rabat, Agadir, Brussels and Paris.
