OCP, ONCF and the Hassan II Fund for Economic and Social Development have joined forces to create a national hotel industry pole in Morocco. A press release from the OCP group, sent to Yabiladi on Friday, explains that this alliance aims to promote high-end hotel excellence, a showcase of Moroccan heritage and know-how, at the service of the country's attractiveness and its international reputation. «These measures will allow the public sector to consolidate its investment capacities, through consistent and harmonious sectoral plans, and the launching of new productive investment programs», the press release states. This pole will include historic hotel assets from Morocco, owned and developed so far by the ONCF, such as the Mamounia in Marrakech (which will be a hundred years old in 2023) and the Palais Jamai, a landmark hotel in the city of Fez founded in 1879. «It will also include 'Le Michlifen' in Ifrane with its mountain golf course, unique in Africa, and the 'Marchica Lagoon Resort', the new flagship hotel in the Oriental region», the OCP statement explains. For OCP, one of the world's biggest phosphates companies, this new pole would consolidate its investment strategy, which includes the development and professionalization of the Moroccan hotel industry, the statement concluded.
