Chinese-owned aviation services company Swissport International has been granted a seven-year license to handle the services of 15 Moroccan airports, Aviation Port reports. The license awarded to Swissport International includes airports in Agadir, Al Hoceima, Casablanca, Dakhla, Errachdia, Essaouira, Fes, Laayoune, Marrakech, Nador, Ouarzazate, Oujda, Rabat, Tangier and Tetouan. «Since 2012, our service agents and ramp personnel have all been working with great dedication to exceed the high expectations of our airline clients in Morocco. This license renewal was earned by all of our staff», said Christophe de Figueiredo, CEO Swissport Morocco. The company is planning to convert its fleet of ground support equipment at Marrakech airport to electric propulsion by 2021. The firm is planning also to invest over 200 million Moroccan Dirham (20.7 million USD) to renew its equipment of Baggage carts; aircraft tow tractors and cargo loaders. In addition to this license, Swissport won a five-year contract from Swiss International Air Lines to cover its load control services from its CLC center in Casablanca.
