The video, in which the four suspects behind the killing of the two Scandinavian backpackers near Imlil pledge allegiance to ISIS, has been authenticated by Moroccan authorities, said the Public Prosecutor's office in Rabat in a communiqué released Thursday, December the 20th. According to the investigation carried out by the authorities, the clip was shot one week before the criminal acts. The same communiqué clarified that the main investigation is still ongoing. Seated beneath a black flag that represents the «Islamic state», the four alleged terrorists told the camera in a video shared Thursday on social media that the self-proclaimed «Caliph», Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had «Moroccan soldiers», referring to themselves. With a knife in hand, one of the four men criticized Morocco and foreign tourists whom he called «apostates». The same person mocked the Moroccan intelligence services and the efforts made by the country to fight against terrorism. For the record, authorities in the Kingdom announced Wednesday, December the 19th, that one of the suspects, who was arrested on Tuesday, belongs to a terrorist group. The three other suspects were arrested Thursday at a bus station in Marrakech as they were about to flee the city.
