Royal Navy assisted on Saturday a boat carrying 53 sub-Saharan migrants, including eight women, near Nador. According to MAP news agency, which quotes a military source, members of the Royal Navy found the bodies of 15 migrants near the boat, which has been sailing for four days. Migrants have been transferred to the Nador port, said the same source. Spanish newspaper El Mundo wrote that the situation of the boat was reported by Spanish NGO Walking Frontiers, headed by Helena Maleno. It is believed that it left Nador to reach the Spanish coasts. The Royal Moroccan Navy announced last Thursday that it saved 289 illegal migrants, mostly sub-Saharans, who were carried by several boats near Nador. Moroccan authorities reported that they have foiled 68,000 illegal migration attempts.
