On Wednesday, 23rd of May, a sit-in was held in front of the U.S. Consulte in Casablanca to denounce President Donald Trump's decision, who ordered the relocation of the American embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The protest was also to support the Palestinian people. Abdelkader El Amri, a member of the National Confederation of Labor (CDT) which organized the sit-in, told Yabiladi that «the struggle of the Palestinian people should not be forgotten». According to him, today's sit-in is part of a week-long initiative held to support Palestine. For the record, U.S. President Donald Trump announced in December, 2017 that he intends to relocate the American embassy in Tel Aviv. The decision has been rejected by several countries, including Morocco, and created tension pushing several parties to march for the protection of the Palestinian people and the holy city. On May the 14th, the inauguration of the American embassy in Jerusalem has killed dozens of Palestinian protesters who took the streets to denounce the decision and commemorate the Nakba, the great exodus which occurred after the Israeli occupation 70 years ago.
