13 people arrested for terrorism-related crimes were sentenced from 1 to 5 years in prison, reports MAP news agency. The court of Salé sentenced two defendants to five years' imprisonment for «forming a criminal gang to prepare and commit terrorist acts, incitement to terrorism and attempting to join a fundamentalist organization». One of the defendants, who joined the terrorist group «Daesh», was handed over by the Syrian authorities to Morocco in September 2017 at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca. Moreover, the Court has pronounced, in separate cases, sentences of 4 years in prison for a defendant and 3 years in prison for four others. A sentence of 3 years' imprisonment has been pronounced against two defendants in another case, one of whom was extradited by the Turkish authorities to Morocco for «his alleged affiliation with people belonging in terrorist organizations». The Court also sentenced to one year in prison an accused who was under provisional release and to one year in prison with a fine of 5,000 dhs for another accused, for «inciting terrorism, and attempting to join ISIS».
