Two Rwandan activists were sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Al Hoceima Court for participating in the social protests that took place in the Rif region, reports EFE news agency. The two defendants were accused of «setting a house and vehicles to fire, injuring police officers and taking part in an unauthorized demonstration», as well as «insulting public officials, destructing public property and carrying weapons», said the same source. The court also sentenced four other activists to sentences ranging from five months to one year in prison, as well as a fifth in absentia to one year in prison. Two others were sentenced to two months in prison, while six were acquitted. For the record, the court of first instance in Al Hoceima had sentenced a minor to 15 years in prison for having set fire to a building inhabited by police agents, at the end of March in Imzouren.
