Cheikh Mohamed El Fizazi commented on Wednesday on the leader of Rif's Hirak, calling his discourse «separatist». A declaration that Nasser Zefzafi did not appreciate, for him, El Fizazi is «ash heap of history». This response pushed El Fizazi to reply in an unortodox way. Sheikh Mohammed El Fizazi and Nasser Zefzafi, leader of the «Mobilization» taking place in the Rif region, have been critizing each other constantly these days. After sending him a letter because of the situation in Al Hoceima, the preacher who was jailed because of the 16th-May events has addressed Zefzafi for the second time. In a six-minute long video published on Saturday 27th of May the salafist states that : «There is nothing good about people who do not self-advise and have advised you but you refused to listen». For Fizazi, the arguments placed by Nasser Zefzafi have a negative impact. «I have advised you but you have responded in a way that will affect you before affecting me. I will be sincere with you : you are not even able to lead two people to name yourself a leader of the mobilization. Your education, intellectual level, political baggage and charisma are below average». Criticizing Zefzafi «The only thing I can say to you is that : the one who pretends to be a leader always fails by the end", Mohamed El Fizazi argued adding, «I am afraid that you will end up being a failing leader».
The salafist hands over his preacher's cap to contradict the hadiths and quotations used by Nasser Zefzafi, notably the one on the sultan and the scholar. «If you see the scholar frequenting the sultan, know that the first is a thief,» said the hadith used by Zefzafi in a video where he was responding to Sheikh El Fizazi. For him, this hadith on which Zefzafi based his criticism, «is not reliable». The preacher of the Tarik Ibn Zyad Mosque then defended his relation with the royal palace, pointed at by the leader of Al Hirak («mobilisation») in the Rif before returning to his relationship with King Mohammed VI. At the end of the video, he points at a grammatical error committed by Zefzafi who responded to his letter before inviting him to «make himself small». «You took on a mission larger than you,» he concluded. El Fizazi, «the ash heap of history» On Thursday, in one of the speeches delivered to mobilize the inhabitants of Al Hoceima and its region, Nasser Zefzafi seized the opportunity to castigate El Fizazi and his letter. Speaking first of the WFP, described as «store» among others, before evoking «those who try to demonize the Rifi people»: «the sheikhs of the Palace, the intellectuals of the Palace and the 3yacha». For the former, Zefzafi quotes the hadith before revealing the name of El Fizazi. «We joined you when the Makhzen arrested you. We said that your arrest was due to your positions. Today, with all due respect, you are an ash heap of history». In the same speech, Nasser Zefzafi also attacks Ahmed Assid calling him «a puppet controlled by the Makhzen State».
Last Wednesday, in a letter published on Facebook, El Fizazi addressed the leader of Al Hirak in the Rif, describing his speech as «separatist» and criticizing the absence of the Moroccan flag and images of «His Majesty the King, a symbol of national unity». This resulted in Zefzafi responding and calling him «the Palace preacher».
