By the end of 2025, Andaluza de Mieles plans to open a factory in Morocco and double its turnover to €20 million within three years. Known for its flagship brand, Doray, the Spanish honey packaging company has been active since the 1970s and now exports 80% of its production worldwide, with 30% going to Morocco and another 30% to the United States. Morocco was the company's first international market in the early 1990s. «My father was a visionary and recognized it as a promising market due to honey's widespread use in cooking across the Maghreb», said Antonio Ramírez, head of the family business, in an interview with El Correo. The company has since established a subsidiary in Morocco, solidifying its market presence. The new factory, set to be operational in the last quarter of 2025, will help strengthen its foothold in key markets like Saudi Arabia and Egypt. According to the same source, Ramírez explained that in today's global trade landscape, this expansion «provides greater security to remain competitive internationally». The Moroccan subsidiary currently employs around 15 people, but with the new industrial unit, «we expect to match or exceed» the 30 employees based in Spain.
