As of Thursday, a total of 122 measles cases have been reported, including 8 juveniles, 6 women, and 2 children, according to a statement released by the General Delegation for Prison and Reintegration Administration on Friday. Among these cases, 105 individuals have recovered, while the number of active cases within prison institutions has decreased to 17. The delegation, committed to transparency and public awareness, noted that these cases are spread across several facilities. Specifically, there are 4 cases in the isolation quarantine at the local prison «Tangier 2» and 3 cases in the isolation quarantine at the local prison in Souk El Arbaa. Additional cases include two each at the Mohammedia local prison and Al Arjat 2 local prison. Single cases have been recorded at the Benslimane, Al Arjat 1, Ait Melloul 2, Bourkaize (Fes), Oued Zem, and Azrou local prisons. Furthermore, the statement highlights that 13 prison employees have been affected by the outbreak, with 8 having recovered, leaving 5 active cases among the staff. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the General Delegation has undertaken significant efforts to curb the spread of measles within prison facilities. A total of 62,145 inmates, including universal vaccination for all those under 18, and 1,901 employees have received voluntary vaccinations. This initiative extends to institutions where no cases have been previously reported, under the supervision of regional health and social protection staff. Prison institutions remain vigilant, employing measures to prevent and control the spread of measles, adhering to guidelines outlined in a circulated memorandum, and maintaining close coordination with supervisory bodies.
