Kadi Abdel Aziz, an American citizen of Moroccan origin, launched a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening before being shot dead by Israeli security forces. The attack, occurring just three days after a ceasefire in Gaza took effect, left four Israelis injured with varying degrees of severity. Hamas issued a statement saying, «We bless the heroic stabbing attack in Tel Aviv, which proves that the tide of resistance continues and escalates as long as the occupation and its crimes continue». The group further stated, «We mourn the heroic Moroccan martyr who carried out the operation in Tel Aviv», describing the attack as a «natural response» to the recent deaths of dozens in Jenin due to what they termed the occupation's aggression. The Islamic Jihad Movement also praised the attack, referring to it as a «heroic operation carried out by a Moroccan youth in the heart of Tel Aviv, causing a number of injuries in the ranks of the invading settlers». In their statement, the movement declared, «This heroic operation is a confirmation of the solidarity of the Arab and Muslim peoples around their central cause in Palestine, and that the free people of our nation will not let the crimes of the occupation go unpunished, and will pursue it from where it does not count». The statement concluded with a prayer for mercy on the attacker, asserting that «his pure blood will turn into a curse that will chase the occupation and disturb the sleep of criminals throughout our occupied land». The stabbing attack coincided with an Israeli military operation in Jenin and its adjacent refugee camp in the West Bank, resulting in several casualties and injuries. In a statement, Israeli Interior Minister Moshe Arbel said the individual had «aroused the suspicions of immigration officials upon arrival at Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Airport, but the Shin Bet (Internal Security Service) decided to allow him to enter Israel after questioning».
