As planned, Marrakech will host the 6th session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum on December 20. «This regional meeting, attended by foreign ministers, is held in accordance with the memorandum signed by the Arab League and Russia in 2009», the Moroccan Foreign Ministry said in a press release. The last session of this forum was organized in Moscow in April 2019. Initially planned for October 28, 2021, in Morocco, the meeting was postponed to a later date. A decision taken by the Russian authorities and communicated on October 11 of the same year by their embassy in Egypt to the Secretariat General of the Arab League in Cairo. The new date was discussed, in Moscow last October, during a meeting attended by the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, and the Secretary General of the League of Arab, Ahmed Aboul Gheit. The 6th edition of this forum «will be held in the format of an enlarged Troika, comprising the Secretary General of the Arab League, the three members of the Arab ministerial Troika, as well as the Presidency of the Summit. Participation will also be open to ministerial delegations», the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates.
