During the night of Friday to Saturday, the Polisario fired «four missiles» on the province of Aousserd, falling within the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region. The attack did not result in any human casualties. The projectiles fell in an area where there are no inhabitants, located only 5 or 6 kilometers from the sand berm, indicates a local source. A Polisario media outlet recognized the attack «carried out by missiles». The same source indicates that «the operation occurred a few hours after the Moroccan occupying forces notified Sahrawi shepherds to leave the Aousserd area from December 19 to make way for the organization of maneuvers large-scale military operations in this region». The last Polisario attack against targets located west of the sand berm dates back to November 5. It had hit the Es-Smara airport and a MINURSO observation site. This new operation comes the day after the visit of the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, to Morocco.
