A 2021-2023 decentralized cooperation framework agreement between the Nouvelle Aquitaine region and the Souss-Massa region was signed on Thursday. The framework agreement was signed by the president of New Aquitaine Alain Rousset and the president of the Council of the Souss-Massa region Brahim Hafidi, during a virtual meeting which was attended by the consul general of the Kingdom of Morocco in Bordeaux Zouhair Jibraili. The 2021-2023 decentralized cooperation framework agreement concerns the ecological transition of territories: renewable energy and solar public lighting, with innovation at the heart of regional economic policies. It also concerns the renewal and diversification of the tourism offer, university cooperation between the Universities of Ibn Zohr and Bordeaux Montaigne as well as the economic integration of young people. Cooperation between the Souss Massa region and the Nouvelle Aquitaine region was initiated almost 20 years ago, with the objective of implementing cooperation projects on themes such as higher and vocational training, agriculture, tourism, food safety, air quality, crafts, university cooperation and support for international solidarity-based projects, underlines the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. «To ensure the success of cooperation projects, the two regions mobilize local expertise and agents from the two local authorities. The main challenge is to promote the exchange of practices and experiences between experts, with the aim of bringing about specific know-how, innovative working methods and territorial specificities in the two territories», notes the region in a press release. Cooperation between the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Souss Massa, over the period 2021-2023, is meant to develop dialogue and share expertise to contribute to a shared economic, social and sustainable development.
