Some of the 201 Moroccan POWs freed by the Polisario at Tindouf are transferred to Agadir 14 December 2000. Some of the men captured in the war for independence of the Western Sahara had not seen their country in 25 years. The Polisario termed the release a humanitarian gesture for the islamic holy month of Ramadan, and demanded the return of 379 captured soldiers and political prisoners held by Morocco.
