On the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum met, Thursday, with the head of UN peacekeeping operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix. The situation in Western Sahara and MINURSO have been at the heart of this meeting. Boukadoum had similar meetings, in New York, with his French and Russian counterparts Jean-Yves Le Drian and Sergei Lavrov of Russia, respectively, and the United States under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale. Officially, Sabri Boukadoum also discussed with Jean-Pierre Lacroix the situation in Mali. Unlike Morocco, Algeria does not participate to UN peacekeeping missions.
