As Morocco national football team is expected to play a friendly against Argentina in March to prepare for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals, coach Hervé Renard said that the Atlas Lions «can be competitive against the South Americans», reports Goal. «We're going to do the same things as we did against Portugal and Spain at the 2018 World Cup», the French coach told Cafonline, adding «if we're at our level, we can compete». Teasing the South American team, Renard said that «while knowing that they have an alien named Lionel Messi who makes everything change. It's an exceptional match in a career and for Morocco. I'm sure the players will all be motivated». The Atlas Lions are more focused on the Afcon title after failing to get to the second stage of the 2018 FIFA world Cup, held in Russia. For the record, the Argentinian football team is expected to play two friendlies in the upcoming months, against both Morocco and Venezuela. The Morocco friendly will be hosted by Tangier on March the 26th, the Moroccan Royal Football Federation announced last week. The match is part of Morocco's preparation for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (CAN-2019), scheduled in Egypt.
