After they won control of the US House of Representatives, Democrats have finally passed a proposal including Western Sahara in the funds granted to Morocco. Lowey. In August 2007, she led a US representatives' delegation that visited Morocco and met former Prime Minister Driss Jettou. The Congresswoman is one of the politicians who received funds from the «Moroccan American Center for Policy» think tank. She is very close to Morocco and to powerful politicians in the Unites States. Since November's mid-term election, online newspaper Al Monitor referred to the congresswoman's differences with President Donald Trump and recalled the fact that she supports Morocco's position on the Western Sahara conflict.
