After Rwanda, it is in Tanzania that Morocco is planning to finance the construction of an ultra modern stadium. The Tanzanian President, John Magufuli, and King Mohammed VI are expected to inaugurate the project in April 2018 in the country's new capital, Dodoma. Traveling to Tanzania on its 56th Independence Day, December the 9th, Morocco's Speaker of the Parliament, Habib El Malki, visited the site that will host the new stadium. Quoted by the Tanzanian online newspaper, Daily News, the Tanzanian President John Magufuli announced : «We're building a largest and modern stadium here. The speaker is with us today and will be visiting the site later». A stadium that Morocco will construct following the instructions of King Mohammed VI, who visited Tanzania for the first time in October 2016. During the national ceremony, President Magufuli confirmed the launch of this project funded exclusively by the Kingdom, as reported by Anzania Post, a local online newspaper. «Dodoma is now the capital of Tanzania and we need to have a big stadium which already Moroccan King has agreed to construct next year», he said. According to the same source, «the new stadium will cost between 80 and 100 million US dollars». 21 partnership agreements signed by Morocco and Tanzania Contacted by Yabiladi, a source from the Moroccan parliament confirmed that indeed the kingdom is financing the project without revealing the budget allocated. The same source stressed that «the stadium will be built based on the international standards». In October 2016, King Mohammed VI's visit to Tanzania led to the signing of 21 partnership agreements between the two nations, in the presence of Habib El Malki. The project financed by Morocco includes also the building of a mosque. «The presence of Morocco's speaker of the parliament in Dodoma on the 9th of December is an extension of this visit», confirmed the same source. This project was announced a few months after Morocco pledged to build several stadiums in Rwanda. Last April, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the Rwandan Association Football Federation have agreed on the launch of a new project in the African republic. The FRMF will finance the construction of stadiums in the country through a repayable fund between the period of three to six years.
